About the winery
The Schönleber Blümlein vinery dates back to 1746. It is now run by the 12th generation. Their philosophy “never stop thinking” causes the systematical questioning of every step in the production and leads to best quality. Along with the classical Rheingau varieties of Riesling and Spätburgunder the vinery grows the Japanese Koshu grape. They produce the first and only Koshu wine outside Japan. Trying to bring together the Rheingau terroir with the cultivation of the Koshu grape leads to an extraordinary product: the Rheingau Koshu.
